Maggie, a five-year-old dog shot 17 times and left on the streets of a conflict zone, amazingly managed to survive. She was thankfully saved and given a second chance at life by becoming a therapy dog. Additionally, she now has a sizable following on Instagram.

Maggie was discovered in Lebanon, bound to a box, suffering from a fractured jaw and 17 gunshot wounds to various parts of her body. She was saved from terrible circumstances by the Wild At Heart Foundation, an animal welfare organization. They attempted to take her in and assisted her in finding a suitable home despite the fact that it is quite difficult to remove dogs from Lebanon.

Maggie had to pass tests in order to become certified because obviously, not just any dog can be a therapy dog. She eventually passed the exam and she is now a registered therapy dog with Underdog Dog & Child Charity.

Maggie still acts like a typical dog with a “infectious attitude” despite her health issues. As a therapy dog, she often visits hospitals, care homes, and universities on a mission to spread a positive message.

“Despite everything she had to endure, she never mistreated anyone and is incredibly caring. She must have been in excruciating pain. She merits a good life after what she had experienced. We hope that all animal lovers throughout the world will find inspiration in Maggie’s story.
