New backstage videos have started to appear online since the filming of Batgirl in Glasgow began a few weeks ago, and they have given us ever more in-depth insights into how this eagerly awaited DC film is made.

Among them, one of the most remarkable is a new footage shot at Glasgow’s Kingston Bridge that shows what a flashback should look like. The clip shows Michael Keaton’s comeback as Batman and a revitalized J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon with his daughter Barbara when she was a little child.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, both veterans of Bad Boys for Life, are the directors of Batgirl. The screenplay is written by Christina Hodson, fresh from work on other DCEU films such as the eagerly awaited The Flash and Birds of Prey, while Kristin Burr joins this project as a producer.

There are currently no narrative specifics available, however it has been suggested that the 2003 comic book miniseries Batgirl: Year One, written by Scott Beatty, Chuck Dixon, Marcos Martin, and Alvaro Lopez, served as a major inspiration for the movie.

At the conclusion of 2022, Batgirl will debut exclusively on HBO Max.
