Fan of abandoned & creepy places? You are going to enjoy this one!

We are well aware that many amateur and professional photographers share a passion for capturing the natural world’s splendour. They say it helps them relax and is fun to listen to. However, there are photographers who particularly enjoy taking pictures of historic or otherwise awe-inspiring structures. They rarely go for the tried-and-true approaches. Whether one is interested in them because of a fascination with history, architecture, or even just the eerie atmosphere, these abandoned structures always have a tale to tell. Roman Robroek is the photographer responsible for these stunningly macabre images. To get the best shots, he visits derelict structures all over the world.

Multiple factors can lead to the abandonment of a structure. It’s possible that a natural disaster or the location’s isolation wiped out the local population. The history of a place can be gleaned from its walls. Robroek does an admirable job of capturing the aesthetic appeal of these locations while also making an effort to do justice to the stories they have to tell.

I find it important to document a small piece of history that way,” Robroek said in an interview, “and open the door for people to peek inside the buildings that they normally wouldn’t see.” Next, he continued, “In general, I’m a huge fan of the old architecture. I have no interest in contemporary buildings. In this way, the history of the building can be preserved for future generations.

The mystery now is how he locates such deserted locations. You know, it’s not like it’s a piece of cake to track down locations like that. But we learned that Roman has been virtually exploring for churches using Google Street View. But that’s not all; he reads the papers daily to look for stories about abandoned structures. Wow! That’s what I call going all out for a passion project! Not only does he have a group of trustworthy coworkers who share his passion, but they also work together to discover such locations!

Nothing is more disheartening than seeing a once-popular spot become vandalised, robbed, or sprayed with graffiti as a result of its sudden rise in popularity, so it’s crucial to know who you can trust.

Relax and take in these stunningly disturbing pictures of abandoned churches; you won’t be able to look at them without wondering if you missed something sinister.
