The 4th of July is a celebration for many.
And it appears that many Americans enjoy celebrating it. I’m not suggesting there’s anything wrong with it; after all, every nation celebrates its national holidays, so I completely get it. However, anytime you mention America, a lot of stereotypes are conjured up. There are numerous folks who proudly fly their flag wherever they go, from Hillbillies with beer guts. Again, there is nothing wrong with either of those things, but that is what comes to mind when you think of America.
Well, some Poles decided to cosplay these American clichés in order to profit from them. I have a good feeling that they never intended to offend and that everything was done in good fun. On July Fourth, many people participate in this event in their own unique ways. The 4th of July larping is what it is officially known as, and the images are quite intriguing. Therefore, we chose some of the most intriguing photos for you to view.
For a closer look, scroll down below.
#1 Just a guy hanging out with a bottle of beer in his hand.
#2 The flag is what does it for me, to be fair.
#3 Don’t lie, we have all seen this at the 4th of July celebrations.
#4 Somebody always gets too drunk and causes a ruckus.
#5 Whatever your stance on firearms, this is quite accurate.
#6 He just wants to check on the neighbors.
#7 It seems that somebody wanted to recreate Breaking Bad.
#8 Why is she changing from sensible shoes into those?
#9 I am pretty sure that she will try to sell everyone essential oils.
The Facebook group that organised it had the following to say about the beginning of this larping festival.
The play LARP Fourth of July is about the unfulfilled American dream. It is a story about hope, about a small homeland, about finding one’s place in the community. Many Americans now are living in different circumstances than the country’s founding fathers anticipated more than 200 years ago. Despite being poor and excluded, they work hard to be good family members and worthy Americans. Though they live on the margins of society, their home—a small town cluttered with caravans and windswept cabins—is for them the essence of ‘the land of the free and the home of the brave.’
#10 The meat still looks a bit rare in my opinion.
#11 Just having a chat with the local sheriff.
#12 Honestly, this really isn’t out of the ordinary, especially on American TV.
#13 She might cause even more ruckus judging by the look on her face.
#14 She might need a darker marker for that.
#15 Taking home your drunk uncle sounds like most afternoons for some people.
#16 He ran out while trying to paint the sign.
#17 The only thing missing is a few bikes around them.
#18 I would love to join this particular zone.
What do you make of this party? Do you find that offensive or do you believe they intend well? If you had the chance, would you ever participate or is it too much for you?
