The dog had a collar around his neck and was later identified as a Jack Terrier Russell. His collar listed his name as Zuko, who got separated from his owners as they were sailing another boat out to sea. Thanks to the collar, the friend group was able to locate Zuko’s owners, who were staying 15 minutes up the coast. Fortunately, the dog was able to get back with its owners soon after.

According to the owners, they were enjoying the cruise when the curious Terrier noticed something in the ocean and jumped into it. The dog had already swum far from their boat by the time they understood what had happened. They expressed gratitude for finding the puppy and vowed to exercise greater caution in the future. They texted the group of buddies the following.
