Redditor’s Responses To Girl’s Decision Not To Change Way She Kisses Her Cat To Help Autistic Roommate

One of the frequent ways people express their love and affection for one another is by kissing. Additionally, it is typical for a cat’s owner to behave in this way. As long as it doesn’t injure the animal itself, they are free to do anything they want with it. But, what if someone stops us from doing something we’d like to do with our cats?
An absurd incident involving a roommate who is actually a germaphobe was recounted on r/AITA by a Reddit user going by the handle @cherrimushroom. The original poster (OP) noticed that her male roommate was exhibiting some indicators of autism while they were living together, but he had not yet started receiving treatment. Due to his autism, he developed a practice of keeping everything clean and sterile and became highly sensitive to germs.
The situation deteriorated when OP sat on the couch with her roommate and began licking her cat on the head. The friend began to worry that if he engaged with the cat, OP’s spit would get on him and spread to the cat. His request was for OP to either quit kissing her cat or to space out the kisses more. Why the Hell not? OP thought it really crossed the limits and decided not to change the way she kissed her cat because of her autistic friend.
The cat owner questioned whether she was an a**hole for acting in this manner in this circumstance. 9.6K people have voted up her Reddit post, and 1.5K people have commented. See how they responded to the tale.
People took the side of the OP instead of her germaphobe roommate. The fact that the roommate was suffering from autism didn’t mean he could give such outrageous commands to OP.
A majority of Redditors agreed that the friend was weaponizing his autism and trying to manipulate OP. At this point, he was abusive.
Everyone with or without autism should be responsible for their actions.
More people supported the OP. See their reactions below.
