The long-awaited fantasy movie The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim has received fresh updates after a few months of relative quiet on the production.

Additionally, it will center on Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan with extraordinary physical strength who spent the most of his life fighting a protracted and expensive battle, who gave the castle its name.

Kenji Kamiyama, well known for his work on the anime series Blade Runner: Black Lotus and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, is the film’s director. As an executive producer, Philippa Boyens collaborated on the scripts for both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. Based on the first draft that Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews gave, her daughter Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou are reworking the script.

“I’m in awe of the creative genius that have come together to create this epic, heart-pounding story to life, from the mastery of Kenji Kamiyama to a genuinely brilliant ensemble,” Philippa Boyens said in a statement on her return to work on Middle-earth in a new role.
