There Will Soon Be a Real-Life, Gloomy Scooby-Doo

Scooby-Doo is set to return! Teens and adults alike will welcome this development. The television adaptation of one of our all-time favourite cartoons..

Scooby-Doo is coming back!

The good news is that this applies to both young people and adults. Our favourite cartoon from our youth is getting its own TV series. Meddling Kids Productions has released a three-minute trailer for “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?,” featuring the original cast of the show. Even though it was created by fans for fans, “Mystery Incorporated” is clearly influenced by Hanna Barbera’s classic cartoon series.

Two Scooby-Doo movies have been released in the past, and both of them were heavily animated action comedies. However, Mystery, Inc. is not like any of those things. This show has a dark plot and is aimed at teenagers. It has the same feel as popular crime/drama shows like Riverdale today. Fans of the original animated series, brace yourselves: this is as close as we can get!

In the preview, we see the sleepy Ohio town of Coolsville, where a young man named Fred Jones has recently lost his parents and has teamed up with a woman named Velma because he is convinced that a supernatural force is responsible for their deaths. Scooby-Doo, a retired K-9, eventually meets Daphne and Shaggy.

After evil forces take over their town, these disparate individuals put aside their differences and band together to fight back.

The show looks like it’s exactly what it claims to be from the preview. It’s the type of suspenseful storyline that’s been sorely lacking in the genre, and now its fans can have it. I should probably add that the Scooby in this show is not a cartoon as well. Since this dog is a real-life Great Dane, you probably have some lofty standards for it.

Members of the cast include:

The majority of the actors are professional cosplayers; Jessica Chancellor (@maidofmight) is particularly well-known among them, with over 450k Instagram followers. Dante Yore of Kick2Kill productions is the show’s director.
