When will these people learn?

I’m referring to picking beggars as “people.” A person who consistently uses credit to get what they want for little to no cost is often called a “freeloader.” And if they don’t get what they want, they act like spoiled children and resort to name-calling and rudeness.

The protagonist of this tale was once such a person. To this man, it should cost next to nothing to sew a blanket together by hand using a complicated stitch. Why? The reason being that he wants to do something nice for his “sick” girlfriend. After he begins complaining about the price, let’s just say he is perfectly put in his place.

The man liked the blanket so much he asked for one of his own. This must be a harmless-sounding phrase, right? On the other hand, he obviously has no idea how much a tailor-made blanket would set you back.

Making blankets isn’t really her business though?

He was rude for no reason at all. If he wants something, why is he acting so sourly? –beesinmymouth

This is what a Catherine wheel stitch looks like and it is incredibly complicated.

He doesn’t want any ‘acrylic sh*t’. Only the highest quality for this guy.

This man is a snob because of his high-end taste. He insists on a wool blanket despite knowing full well how much more expensive it is. And it’s not just that he doesn’t want any additions or subtractions.

I guess that shocked him quite a lot.

Didn’t he just say he didn’t want ‘acrylic sh*t’?

She really isn’t charging all that much. Most people would charge way more.

Rather than fighting about it, why not just move on.

Several times, I have successfully sold items via the internet. And I don’t get why people always say things like “other people can do it for less.” You can probably find someone who will do it for less money, but does that even matter? No, not in my opinion.

This is when the emotional blackmail kicks in.

Yes, the age-old “I really need this, so please lower the price” argument. Admitting your desperation can be used as a bargaining chip. –HopeFox

I laughed so hard when he said, “You should give me a friends and family discount,” even though he has been such a jerk and nothing like a friend or family member.

“I charge friends and family more” was a brilliant response, nonetheless. –PogueEthics

It’s as if they think the fear of failure will motivate you to create something for nothing. This is also a common practise among diners who are seeking free meals. To tell the truth, it makes me feel pretty down.

I think you lowballed, you should have said $4000.

As a result, I enjoy the hobby of crocheting greatly. This is just a pastime, not a serious enterprise. However, I do accept commissions on occasion. And then I’m going to use the money I make from the commissions to fund my interest. My job is my full-time commitment. Some dude asked me to sew him a blanket in the queen size. –krafty katt
